What to Expect - Over 6 Months Old
We understand that each dog has individual needs, emotions, drives, and training styles that suit them best. Much like humans, some dogs are more social than others. Some are courageous while others are more reserved. Some are natural rule followers while others are more rebellious. Some are athletes while others prefer to watch from the sidelines with a snack. These things are important to us because your dogs are important to us. We’ll be paying close attention to these factors and many more to guide your dog through their training in the best way for them.
Before you drop them off, we’ll have discuss any behaviors of concern, your goals for the board and train program, and any special needs or medications that your dog may have. We’ll then work with you to set realistic expectations in the time frame we have to work with your dog.
A number of things including genetics, breed, past experiences, age, etc… will be taken into account when creating a program that is best for your dog. We will always do our best to adhere to our original plan, however, dogs have minds of their own and we may need extra time with them in order to reach all of the goals we set out to achieve. Likewise, if your dog is an exceptionally fast learner, we’ll let you know if they are ready to go home sooner than expected or start learning new things! What’s most important to us is that we send home a dog that is not only better trained, but free and happy to show off their new knowledge.
During their stay with us, your pet will live in our home like one of our own. You’ll receive regular updates on your pet’s progress including videos of their training. Keep at least an hour open when it’s time for their go home lesson and schedule your 3 free follow up lessons - we can accommodate these in person or on a video call. We take pride in the attention, care, and training time that we spend with each dog so we strongly recommend that you take advantage of this benefit to learn the new or improved line of communication that your dog will know and give their training the best possible chance to continue at home.

Puppy Board And Train
While you can train a dog at any age, it is far better to start when they are impressionable puppies. When you hire a professional dog trainer, your puppy will learn how to behave at home, outside, and in social situations. It is good practice to start off with consistent rules as soon as you bring your puppy home.

What to Expect - 6 Months Old & Under
Like our adult dog programs, your puppy will live in our home with us like one of our own. We’ll do the heavy lifting of crate training and the early morning/late night potty walks for house breaking. Your floors and your mop will thank you later! We include extra outings for puppies in order to get them used to new environments and work on engagement with their handler around those new distractions.
Before you drop them off, we’ll have a phone call to discuss any behaviors of concern, your goals for the board and train program, and any special needs or medications that your puppy may have. We’ll then work with you to set realistic expectations in the time frame we have to work with your dog.
While puppies tend to be more impressionable than adult dogs, we still have to recognize their differences. The same factors like genetics, breed, past experiences, etc… will weigh in when deciding the best training approach for your pup.
